| David Horn, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the Alumni Club of Dallas/Fort Worth invites you to join alumni and friends for an evening of curiosity and conversation! Dean Horn will be accompanied by Wayne Schlingman, assistant professor in the Department of Astronomy and director of the Arne Slettebak Planetarium. An expert in teaching general education introductory astronomy and active-engagement learner-centered instruction, Dr. Schlingman also serves as the department’s Director of Undergraduate Studies and a champion for astronomy-based community outreach. Professor Schlingman will discuss the total solar eclipse that will pass over Dallas on April 8, 2024. Join us to learn more about what you can expect to see during this rare event, as well as the science and history behind it.
